Man, proud man, dressed in a little brief authority

My dinner tonight was so delicious, I wish I had taken a picture of it to show all of you.  It consisted of a lavash wrap (no, i didn’t misspell ‘lavish’), toasted in the oven, with shrimp, marinara sauce, veggies and romaine lettuce on top.  It was quite delicious and the whole thing was pretty big yet I felt NO guilt in eating it since lavash is thin and meant to be eaten whole.

I had a discussion with my mom today, and we’ve decided that I will be staying in NYC until my lease runs out.  I want to really get everything out of my stay here as possible, so I’m compiling a list of ‘to-do’ before I leave.  I will be going to the Bronx Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, Central Park whenever I can until the season changes, and obviously taking in the local cuisine when my budget allows.  My mom calls this plan a ‘highly expensive social experiment’ but I feel it will benefit me greatly as a citizen of the world.  Today I went into Washington Square Park mainly to start reading my book of the collected works of Tennyson (gotta love the GRE right?), but the day was so brilliant, and the sun so warm and the grass…so soft…well I woke up about twenty minutes later and after checking to be sure nothing was stolen from my person, I headed for home to make the aforementioned pizza.

A public service announcement: I gave in and bought a huge tub of Trader Joe’s frozen yogurt the other day because it was styled after the extremely popular frozen yogurt chains that have popped up here in NYC, and I just enjoyed a few spoonfuls of it along with a nectarine and blueberries.  I think I just saved myself about thirty dollars at the local Red Mango, because this is the real deal, folks.  
Another thing I bought today? A pair of grey Chuck Taylor’s, my first pair ever! I’m kind of obsessed now. I want them in all the colors (including the glittery ones).
And finally, a little shoutout to the girl of the hour: My sister, Jenna.  Tomorrow is her 1-year wedding anniversary with her lovely husband, Todd.  All my best to them on this lovely day!  I’m thinking that they’re going to eat the frozen red velvet cake top that’s still in my parent’s freezer.
