Forza Italia!

I wish I didn’t have to wait a few more days to watch Italy play their first World Cup match! Thankfully, the USA/England match is on today and I can plan out a glorious afternoon of lazing and watching the battle.  I just wish it weren’t so early on, although maybe we’ll get a rematch in a later round? 🙂

Today I managed to kick some major ass on my run.  I woke up around 6 and was in surprisingly good spirits.  The pizza I ate last night stuck with me and I almost didn’t even need the 1/2 banana I ate prior to the run.  I ran my four mile loop without stopping and felt great afterwards (although I won’t lie, my knees hurt! I need to stop taking so many days in between runs, my body can take it!).

I waited until 8:30 to eat because my body didn’t crave anything until then, and even then I wasn’t too hungry.  I settled for a Bagel Thin with Smart Balance, the rest of my banana, handful of blueberries, and a Strawberry Chobani.

I know my Bagel Thin looks a little burnt, but I prefer it like that.  I love my bread nice and crunchy!  And the Strawberry Chobani was delicious; It reminded me of the time I tried a Brown Cow Strawberry Cream Top, only a little thicker.

A little while ago I snacked on an apricot.  I love it when these come in season! They get so juicy.  I almost like apricots more than plums; plums can be unbearably tart.

Off to watch more World Cup! I find it funny how the US gets really excited about soccer every four years, and then it turns into that other sport people play that isn’t basketball, baseball, or American football.  I also have to go get my car detailed today, which won’t take long (I hope!).

  1. Ally, do you like oatmeal? I created a red white and blue oatmeal during the Olympics: add blueberries and cranberries, (and walnuts for crunch and omega-3s, which I throw into just about everything!) It's an amzing breakfast. For dessert — every meal has dessert right? a clementine or two, and some dark chocolate.


  2. Peg, I absolutely LOVE oatmeal! It's one of my favorite breakfasts during the winter (and I put milk in oats overnight for muesli during the summertime). That sounds absolutely amazing, i'll have to try it!
