I thought I wasn’t going to have the best run today. If anything, I figured I’d run my 4.5 miles in about 45 minutes, and collapse afterwards in exhaustion (didn’t get a lot of sleep). Oh, was I wrong! I shot through that run like a bat out of hell, and completed the loop in 40 minutes! And I felt like I could’ve done another three. Maybe one of these days if I’m feeling up to it, I’ll complete a 10K before breakfast..
It’s seriously true: running murders your appetite. I didn’t feel the need to eat anything until around 8:15. When the hunger hit (or rather wandered casually in and pulled up a chair), I pulled out my yogurts and granolas and went to town.
3/4 banana (the rest was my pre-run fuel)
1/4 c Great Harvest Groovy Granola
1/4 c Nature’s Path Pumpkin Granola
1 Blueberry Chobani
Apricot
1 tbsp Stonewall Kitchen Blueberry Jam
Creamy, crunchy, fruity, delicious! I hadn’t tried the Blueberry Chobani yet, and when went to mix it up, tons upon tons of blueberries came swirling up from the bottom of the cup. Adding the extra blueberry jam wasn’t exactly necessary, but it sure tasted good! Although next time I might not add the apricot…they were kind of just laying on top and I ate them off before starting in on the other parts of my dish.
Off to the library to return books, and exchange my car, and run a ton of errands in preparation for the beach on Wednesday. Exciting day! And GO ITALY!!!
You real need to be careful with refueling, Al. I am never hungry when I get back from a run, but I force myself to eat after a couple instances when I very suddenly almost fainted.
