Hump Day Eggs

Sometimes my body amazes me.

I woke up this morning a little bit hungry.  The pre-run 1/2 Clif Z-bar I ate helped, but not much.  I drank a ton of water, and prepared for what I thought would be a 3 mile run.

Well, the weather was gorgeous (if a little cold!), my legs were fresh, and I exploded out of the gate.  I ran nearly 5 miles in 45 minutes, according to my iPod (which could be wrong, you never know).  I was thrilled to pieces!

I came home and immediately started throwing things into the blender:
3/4 c Dole Frozen Peaches
1/2 c Dole Frozen Sliced Strawberries
Handful baby spinach
1 serving Jarrow Brown Rice Protein Powder
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 packet Truvia
1 c Almond Milk

Looks like poop, doesn’t it?



But that was definitely not going to be enough.  I debated my options but I really just wanted an egg and cheese bagel (ever since I mentioned the Manhattan Bagel version I’ve been CRAVING one!).  So while I showered I put an everything bagel thin into the toaster.  When I got out I hit ‘blend’ on the blender and slapped a Mozzarella Veggie Slice and 2 microwaved egg whites on top of the bagel with a bit of ketchup.

If there’s one thing I don’t like about the Thomas Bagel Thins, it’s that when you put them in the toaster they get so crisp they’re hard to cut.  I would’ve liked to have halved this and eaten it like a proper egg/cheese bagel, but the knife wouldn’t go through the bagel without everything exploding out the sides.

It was still a delicious, healthy, filling breakfast.

I ended up drinking the smoothie without a straw, as mine is in the dishwasher!

I did get a bit of sad news this morning…My dad had finished off my Ben and Jerry’s Limited Batch Maple Blondie ice cream.  I am a huge freak for blondies.  They’re possibly my favorite dessert (aside from brownies) and I was devastated to see it gone.  Thankfully, I found a website that has a few of the pints left, so I plan to order some!
