Meet my lunch: MacroBar, Pineapple Vita Coco, Taylor Gold Pear.
This satisfied me for about, oh, three minutes. At the time I packed it, I was still feeling the effects of last night’s scarf-fest so I wanted something very simple, and I knew I wouldn’t get a break at work to eat a real lunch, so this had to do. That bar kind of sucked 😦 It was supposed to be Chocolate Peanut Butter but it tasted more like chia seeds with random peanuts and chocolate chips thrown in. Not what I was expecting. I should’ve stuck with my ProBar plan.
Actually, the bit about me not being satisfied is a lie. This ‘lunch’ kept me going for about three hours, but at around 4:15 I suddenly was starving and I broke my snack of 2 gigantic Medjool dates, along with a handful of Mohegan popcorn. That actually put a cork in my hunger until I got home, which shocked me!
Once I got home, I managed to squeak out a pathetic 36 minutes on the elliptical, then threw together a quick, but kind of amazing dinner, with the new love of my title:
1 can Amy’s Organics Low in Sodium Tomato Bisque
2/3 cup Morningstar Farms Meal Starter Meatless Crumbles
handful of broccoli/cauliflower mix
I paired it with the greatest invention known to man: The Philadelphia Soft Pretzel from the Philly Soft Pretzel Factory. These things are absolutely delicious. We received them as a gift from our friends visiting from Philly, and I heated up half of one (they’re freaking huge!) and dunked it into my soup. It was so good (and I was so hungry) I ended up running to the fridge and grabbing the other half and eating it as well, without heating it up. It was still amazing!
I also just ate a small white peach with a dollop of Cool Whip.
Now, I MUST get to bed. I’ve got a run planned in the morning and I’m already dreaming of how I can put those pretzels in my lunch/dinner. Or maybe I could have it for breakfast? I wonder how it would pair with yogurt…
