I really don’t want to like that song, but every time it comes on the radio I bop along to it like I like it. Someone stop me!
This morning I got up later than usual and decided to save my workout for this afternoon. I started off the day with one of my favorite things: A yogurt bowl.
In my yogurt today I combined 0% Fage, Mott’s Granny Smith Applesauce, Peanut Butter Puffins, Oatmeal Squares, blueberries and blackberries. I also drizzled some honey on top. Definitely hit the spot, and I actually used zero stevia on this because of the sweetness of the applesauce. This combo came to me after I ate applesauce and Peanut Butter Puffins for a snack one day and LOVED it. It was almost like a Granny Smith and peanut butter, but cold and more crunchy.
Actually, that bowl is a bit of a misdirection on my part. This is how I actually ate it.
Messy? Yes. Good? YUP.
I also ate a plum before this bowl.
I didn’t take pictures of my lunch or post-workout snack, but trust me, they were great. For my lunch, I enjoyed an Arnold’s Sandwich Thin smeared with Marmite and two pieces of melted Veggie Slices Cheddar, and topped with turkey. I also had a bunch of baby carrots and a sliced pink lady apple. I adore Pink Ladies!
For my post-workout snack (20 mins weights, 40 mins elliptical), I had a small banana cut in half and smeared with I ❤ Peanut Butter Cinnamon Raisin. I cut it into small pieces and chilled it while I showered, and it was the perfect snack to boost me before I went to a preview performance of my theater company’s production at Barnes and Noble. I drank an iced decaf Cafe Americano with a pump of sugar-free caramel.
My dinner was unbelievably epic. Mom got the amazing idea in her head to make pulled pork. The smell was driving me bonkers all day. On my way home from the preview event, visions of pork dripping in barbecue sauce danced in my head, along with the sauteed garlic and peppers and baked beans Mom also makes when she serves this dish.
I got home and threw a plate together of pulled pork, baked beans, peppers, and I added some steamed asparagus because my plate was too monochrome.
That is a huge hunk of pulled pork. I cleaned my plate. Almost licked it. And maybe went to the fridge and had another forkful. A pork fork, if you will.
My dessert was light and lovely: two packets of Swiss Miss Diet Hot Chocolate topped with Fat Free Reddi-Whip.
The whipped cream steamed as it hit the chocolate, and by the time I actually drank this down it had melted into the mug. Also, because I used two packets, the extra chocolate had created a thick chocolatey crust on top of the drink. Crazy good.
Now, I’m off to read and go to BED. I’ve got a run in the morning and a Green Monster planned for my breakfast!
