It’s amazing what a good night’s sleep can do for your workout.
Over the last few days, I’ve had workouts that have been beautiful. Of course, working out has never been a problem for me. The refueling has been somewhat of an issue, lately, with my stomach problems. But if it means forcing food down my throat to get my nutrients in check, that’s what I need to do.
Thankfully, that wasn’t the case today!
I wanted to run outside today but unfortunately, it’s just that time of the month. Awesome, huh? So I figured I’d go on the treadmill and make a game try of it. Well…turns out a game try was 5.5 miles!!!! I felt like a badass. Oh sure, there are people who can run farther than me. But dammit, you try running on a treadmill for 5.5 miles and tell me what you think of that. Bad. Ass.
Breakfast was a new twist on one of my favorites. I wanted yogurt and an apple, but I needed a little more protein. I stirred a serving of Jarrow Brown Rice Chocolate Protein Powder plus 1/2 a tablespoon cocoa powder into Fage 2% Greek Yogurt.
A word to the wise: When mixing powder into yogurt, make sure you do it in a larger bowl, and over a sink. The powder got everywhere! I also threw in 2 packs of Stevia just to sweeten it up. It was really good, and it made for a giant amount.
With that, I used a sliced Pink Lady apple. I adore Pink Ladies for their crisp sweetness, but I cannot wait until Honeycrisp comes into season. Last year I kept finding Honeycrisps that were absolutely humongous, like the size of my head!
A perfect, protein-packed breakfast.
Now, off to pick up my books for school. I start in three days! Gah!
