Pushing the issue

Over the last few days it’s felt like I’ve been forcing myself to eat.  I just haven’t been hungry except for when I first get up.  Usually, that would be a good thing.  But the kind of ‘not hungry’ isn’t a ‘satisfied, happy, normal’ feeling.  It’s a ‘totally bloated and sick’ sort of feeling.  I’m not sure what my body wants but I know whatever I’m giving it is healthy so it’s just going to have to deal with it.

A few days ago I looked back at my old photos from this blog about a year ago.  I was stunned.  The lack of fat in my diet, the Sandwich Thins, the irresponsible overexercising…but mostly the lack of fat.  It’s insane.  No wonder I was always hungry and irritable!

oat bran mixed with greek yogurt, coconut milk, chia seeds, cashew/coconut butter magic shell, strawberry jam

overnight oats with chia seeds, 1/2 frozen banana, coconut butter, bloobs, gluten free granola

repeat of the first picture but with mango as well as banana…and i told you i was addicted to the coconut butter

I’m almost out of the Manna jar.  If I didn’t limit myself to a tbsp of the stuff a day, It would have been gone the day I got it.  No joke.

And I believe this is mixed greens with peppers, artichokes, sprouts, black beans, salsa, hummus, and 1/2 avocado, part of that smeared onto a rice cake with salsa.

The pictures of my old lunches are sad exercises in undernourishment.  I’m nourishing my brains out at the moment, so I can deal with a bit of bloat.

As long as my brain and my body are healthy and clear.  And all of this fat is doing wonders for my hair.

Oh, and expect to see a TON of these in the coming days.  Green Monsters, welcome back!

  1. I love having a blog for this reason… you get to look back at things like that! Hope you feel better soon… I've been that way for the past few days, too. Could be a small bug…

  2. Um, your breakfast bowls look so fantastic! Wow.

Sometimes, my bod just isn't hungry either. Honoring the fullness always works, because chances are that your appetite will come back full-throttle soon, ya know? It's all part of taking care of yourself. You've got the right idea 🙂

  3. It's cool that you are able to look back on your life from a year ago and see how things are different. Sometimes when you are in the process you don't realize the little changes!

I need to try making a green monster. I love smoothies and tried to make a green monster last year, but it just tasted very spinichy!
